Consider

I Resolve…

God is sovereign. Therefore, I resolve not to speak evil of the LORD my God by foolishly apologizing to anyone for His unique creation of me as part of the human race, for my ethnicity, or for my place in history, which He has determined for His good purposes; I will bow the knee to none but the LORD (Psalm 47; Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7; Acts 17:24-26; Matthew 4:8-11).

God is holy. Therefore, although an unworthy sinner in need of His mercy, I resolve by His grace to love my neighbor, to do justice, to love kindness, to walk humbly with my God, and to live at peace with all people as much as is possible, for we all must give an account to the Creator who is our just Judge (Mark 12:29-31; Micah 6:8; Romans 12:14-21; 14:10-12; Hebrews 4:12-13; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

God is gracious. Therefore, I resolve to pray for all people and to proclaim the good news of God’s salvation in Jesus Christ His only Son, who came into the world to live the righteous life we all fail to live and to die the death for sin we all deserve, so that those from every language, people, and nation who will turn from sin, believe in Christ, and follow Him will not perish but have eternal life in the Son of God (1 Timothy 2:1-6; John. 3:16-21; Philippians 2:5-11; Revelation 5:9-10).

Sincerely,

Richard (Rick) E. Clayton, Jr.
